Privacy Policy
Effective 27 October 2026
In short
- Memora looks at your photos and videos on your phone. They are not uploaded to us or anyone else.
- No account, no ads, no analytics, no tracking. We do not sell or share personal data.
- Something leaves your phone only when you share it yourself, or through the few phone services described below.
This policy explains how the Memora mobile app (the “App”) and this website (the “Site”) handle information. “Memora”, “we” and “us” mean the team behind the App. Questions: Rasul.Akhmedov [at] gmail.com.
1. Photos and videos
With your permission the App reads the photos and videos on your phone to show them, find them by what is in them, sort them, pick the best shots and make collages, videos, captions and albums. All of this analysis runs on your phone with AI models stored in the App. Your photos, videos and what the App learns about them (descriptions, search data, quality scores, albums) are kept in the App’s private storage on your phone. We never receive them.
You can allow access to all photos or only to some (where your phone offers that) and change it at any time in the phone’s settings.
2. Places in your photos
If your photos contain location data, the App uses it to group photos by place. To turn coordinates into place names the App uses your phone’s built-in place-name service (on Android it is provided by Google). That service receives the coordinates, not the photos, and handles them under its provider’s privacy policy.
3. People in your photos
This feature is off until you turn it on in People. Then the App finds the faces in your photos, turns each into a set of numbers that lets it recognize the same person in other photos, and groups the photos by person. Only you give people names. All of this is done and kept only on your phone, in the App’s private storage: faces, these numbers and names are never sent anywhere, and we never receive them. Such data may count as biometric, so the App uses it only to show you your people and find their photos when you ask. Turning the feature off in People deletes every face and name it found at once; uninstalling the App deletes them too. If other people appear in your photos, please use this feature with respect for them.
4. Downloading the AI models
Some AI models are downloaded once after installation, from our server or a hosting provider we use. Like any download, the server sees your device’s IP address and the file requested. No personal data or photos are sent.
5. Voice input
If you tap the microphone, your speech is turned into text by the speech recognition service installed on your phone (for example, Google’s). The App asks for on-device recognition where available; otherwise that service may process the audio on its servers under its own privacy policy. The App receives only the recognized text and does not record audio.
6. Content you create and share
Collages and videos you make are saved to your phone’s gallery (folders “Memora”). Content leaves your phone only when you choose to share it through the phone’s share menu, to an app you pick (for example, Instagram or WhatsApp); from then on that app’s policy applies.
7. Deleting photos
The App never deletes anything on its own. When you choose to delete photos or videos, your phone asks you to confirm, and they go to the phone’s trash, where the phone keeps them for a while before removing them.
8. What we do not do
- We do not collect analytics, crash reports or advertising identifiers.
- We do not show ads and do not use third-party tracking.
- We do not sell, rent or share personal data.
9. Notifications and background work
With your permission the App shows a notification while it analyzes your gallery, so you can see the progress or stop it. This happens on your phone and sends nothing to us.
10. Purchases
The App is free while in early access. If paid plans are offered later, they will be described in the App before you buy, payments will be handled by a payment provider, and we will not receive your full card details.
11. The website
The Site is a set of static pages. It does not use cookies, analytics or forms. Like every website, the hosting provider may keep standard technical logs (such as IP address and time of the request) to deliver and protect the Site. Links to WhatsApp, phone and e-mail open those apps; what you send there is handled by them.
12. Children
The App and the Site are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
13. Your choices
- Withdraw photo, notification or other permissions at any time in your phone’s settings.
- Delete everything the App has stored by clearing its data in the phone’s settings or by uninstalling it. Your photos themselves stay in your gallery.
- Because we hold no personal data on our servers, there is nothing for us to export or erase; you are welcome to contact us with any question or request.
14. Security
Keeping your photos on your phone is the main protection. The App’s data sits in its private storage, which other apps cannot read. No method is perfect, so please keep your phone protected with a screen lock.
15. Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above, and point out important changes in the App.
